Hitch Things, Inc. was founded in 2001 with the intent of providing a means of hauling ATV’s without the need for a trailer. The product line quickly expanded to include a variety of hitch mounted platforms and boxes. Ramps and other accessories were added to the mix as the company continued to expand is other directions.

Having additional manufacturing capacity in our own shop Hitch Things began to take on contract metal fabrication work for other manufacturing companies in the region. The company has continually invested in technology throughout the facility. As the demand for contract fabrication increased we have added laser cutting, fully automated CNC punching, and robotic welding to our mix of services.

In 2007 the company changed hands and locations. The consistent growth of both the hitch mounted product line and the contract fabrication services required additional space and we were fortunate to find the perfect building at 1086 Wayne Avenue in Chambersburg, PA. The new space provides adequate room for the shop and offices as well as providing a show room for our product line.

Precision Metal Fabricators was introduced as the corporate name in 2008. The change in company name better reflects the services provided through our operations. Hitch Things continues to be a high quality line of accessories that expand the utility of any vehicle. We are dedicated to expanding the Hitch Things product line. At the same time the contract fabrication services that Precision Metal Fabricators offers has become an integral part of many manufacturers in the South Central and Maryland regions. We are proud to be part of so many varied operations.

Today Precision Metal Fabricators and Hitch Things, Inc. employs over 40 individuals. We provide valuable fabrication and engineering services to more than 30 manufacturers – and the list continues to grow. The Hitch Things product line is undergoing constant revision. New products, new facility, and new equipment has the company poised to take on new opportunities.
